আমরা ছোটবেলা থেকেই নানান গল্পের ছলে পন্ডিত হিসাবে শুধু শেয়াল মশাইকে জেনে আসছি।  আজ তোমাদের নতুন রকমের পণ্ডিত মশাইয়ের কথা বলব। আমরা যদি অনেক আগের কোনো গল্পের বই পড়ি বা কোনো উপন্যাস পড়ি তাহলে আমরা দেখতে পাব যারা শিক্ষক ছিলেন তাদেরকেও পন্ডিতমশাই হিসাবে বলা হয়ে থাকে।  তাহলে এখন বুঝতেই পারছ এই পন্ডিত মশাই মানে শিয়াল নয়। এ হল আমাদের শিক্ষাগুরু বা গৃহশিক্ষক।  আমরা যদি লক্ষ্য করি শিয়াল পন্ডিত দের মধ্যেও ভালো খারাপ পাবো তেমনি আমাদের শিক্ষাজীবনের যে শিক্ষাগুরু বা পন্ডিতমশাই আছেন তাদের মধ্যেও আমরা ভালো-মন্দ খুঁজে পাবো। এরকম আমার জীবনের একজন পন্ডিত মশাই এর কথা আমি তোমাদেরকে বলতে যাচ্ছি।  আমার বাবা ছিলেন কৃষক মানুষ  এবং প্রত্যন্ত গ্রামে বাস করতেন। তাহলে বুঝতেই পারছ আমার শিক্ষা জীবনটাও ঠিক ওখান থেকেই শুরু হয়।  বাবার আর্থিক স্বচ্ছলতা ভালো না থাকার কারণে আমাদের পাশের গ্রামে বিহারিয়া নামক  গ্রামের একটি প্রাইমারি স্কুলে আমাকে ভর্তি করিয়ে দেয়। যেখানে আমার কাজ ছিল ব্যাগভর্তি বই কাঁধে করে স্কুলে যাওয়া এবং ঘুরেফিরে বন্ধুদের সাথে  খেলাধুলা করে বাড়ি ফেরা।  এখন তুমি ভাবছো, স্কুল থেকে খেলাধুলা এবং
